For the first time ever – a combination of two shades have been crowned PANTONE®’s colours of the year for 2016: Rose Quartz and Serenity.
It’s a question we hear often – and no wonder – the phrase frequently occurs in SEO (search engine optimisation) chatter around the web, and unless you’re an search engine optimiser yourself, the jargon can be somewhat confusing.
So, cutting straight to the point – what are they and why are they important?
SERPs. Otherwise know as ‘Search Engine Result Pages‘ are the pages in Google which display results for your search queries online. On Google, these pages display a combination of paid adverts (often at the top and right hand side of the page with a yellow ‘ad’ or ‘sponsored’ button next to them) and organic (not paid) results.
SERP positions are, simply put, the positions a website holds in organic search, for example, if your website is optimised well, it will normally hold the number one position when searching for your company’s name. The number one spot starts and is counted from the top result under any paid adverts.

HCA are renowned specialists in Industrial Coatings and Composite Panels, separated into two divisions. HCA commissioned Austin Marketing for re-branding of the company and its divisions, which was felt to be inconsistent in design, showing no indication that two divisions were in fact linked with the same company.
HCA requested a logo and visual identity that was modern, simple, clean and contemporary in design, something to set themselves apart from the pack. As one of the larger powder coating companies within the region, HCA serves a range of sectors, including architectural, agricultural, defence, automotive and transportation and electronics.
Last week saw Lester Controls’ first Enhanced Technology Event, introducing three new initiative products for the lift sector. Working in a long term relationship with Lester Controls, our team helped with marketing and communication strategy for the launch of these new products. This included product naming, exhibition stand design, marketing collateral (printed and digital) and the pre and post event e-mail campaigns. As this was the first of several events this year the stand was designed with multiple venues in mind, two pieces that merge into one 7m display, therefore adaptable for different venues.
